Installation

ShiftExec is really easy to install. You will just need to know you MySQL database login details on your site, then just upload ShiftExec files to schedule (for example) directory on your website, then go to www.yoursite.com/schedule/ page with your browser and you will get to the interactive installation page that will take only a couple of minutes to complete.

Detailed installation instructions

1. Download the zip archive of the latest version. Once you purchase the Pro version, you will get your personal download link that you can always follow to grab the latest version available.
2. Extract all the files from this zip archive on your computer.
3. Create a new MySQL database in your host control panel for ShiftExec. If you already have a database, and you can't or don't want to create another one specifically for ShiftExec, ShiftExec can easily make use of this existing database. The names for database tables starts with ShiftExec's own prefix thus they do not interfere with other applications.
4. Rename the config.rename-it.php to config.php, then open this new config.php file in your text editor and enter your MySQL database login information. The file already contains some sample values so it will be easy.
5. Alternatively you can use the SQLite database option which is a simpler alternative to MySQL and works perfectly well for small to medium installations.
6. Decide in which directory you will be installing ShiftExec on your website. You would probably want to create a new directory. Upload all the files keeping their directory structure there.
7. Point your browser to the web page where you have uploaded the files. You will be transferred to the setup screen. Please follow the instructions on the screen.
